Every chiller has to dump the heat it removes from your process somewhere. The two options are air and water.

Air-cooled chillers blow air across a coil with a fan, the same way your car radiator works. Everything is self-contained. Plug it in, connect the process fluid, done.

Water-cooled chillers dump heat into a water loop, which goes to a cooling tower outside. More efficient, but you also need the tower, the pipes, and the water treatment to go with it.
